The 2012 winner was Philippa Kerby, 19, of Gillingham, Dorset riding Rupert XVII (15.2hh, chestnut, 10yo).

Philippa's qualifying clears were at: Mount Ballon, Pontespool, Howick.

“I have had Rupert for a year and he had only done Pony Club (Area only) although he has jumped BS Newcomers.  I have been competing ponies since I was 14 and Rupert has been a great transition to horses for me. I loved competing at Blenheim. It’s a great atmosphere and very exciting."

"I certainly didn’t come here expecting to win but we were in the top 12, so went through to the jump off.  It was the last fence that  proved the decider, a skinny upright off a corner, which went up to 1.15m in the last round.  Everybody  had faulted there, but we came off the corner on a very good stride, and was delighted to leave it standing, just inside the time.”

The competition is aimed at all age groups and there is a prize for the top placed veteran rider (over 45 years of age). The 2012 veteran rider prize was won by Amanda Bettle with the style prize going to Alice Collard (pictured with Laura Cutter from Tri-Zone/Equilibrium Products).
