The 8 and 9 Year Old Horse CIC3* Competition

Blenheim introduced a special three star CIC (Concourse International Combine) class for 8 and 9 year old horses in 2009 which has since become highly popular and hotly contested.
Slightly less demanding than the CCI3* with a less technical and shorter cross country course, this class has attracted some of the best up and coming horses of this age group and has become a British Championship. A maximum of 70 horses are able to compete in this highly subscribed competition which is seen as a key step on the pathway of those aiming for international stardom.
Past winners have gone on to achieve considerable CCI4* success, notably 2010 champion NZB Land Vision winning Badminton in 2011 with Mark Todd and 2011 title-holder William Fox-Pitt clinching the top spot at Pau partnered by Oslo.
To enter for the CIC3* riders and horses must have already attained successful result at two star CIC level and below and they must apply for a place to compete at the event. Entries open for applications to compete at Blenheim in the CIC3* in July after which entry forms will be available to download from this site. All applicant entries must be approved by their National Federation.
